The recent expansion of web content results in drastic increase in content management solutions. However, all web developers suffer deficiency in open documentation on CMS design. Each developer has to contrive his own ways when creating a CMS.
Over its long history, Open Source gave way to numerous innovations of high quality that are used all over the world. Developers gained skill and experience from Open Source projects, and applied it to more applications. With keeping in mind the success of Open Source and its benefits, we offer developers to share our expertise in CMS design and web development. We have worked out Specification of XML-based language for description of website interfaces. This language is not limited by any system programming language. To get an idea please visit www.XMLSapiens.org.
The project www.XMLSapiens.org is aimed to share experience in CMS design and development and consolidate efforts in working out standards and recommendations. Apart from XML Sapiens, the project will feature other Open Source products supporting the Specification. The workgroup is presenting SAPID Open Source CMS applicable to small web sites. SAPID represents XML Sapiens implementation and the PHP-programming core (parser) and supporting documentation. XML Sapiens parsers for Java and ASP are underway.
We are opening the library of web site functional solutions at www.XMLSapiens.org/lib. Conference on the Specification and its applications is available at www.XMLSapiens.org/board.
We hope for the support and understanding among CMS developers' community.
